I have laundry room envy!
Anybody else look at Pinterest or Instagram only to see rooms and houses that are new, palatial and perfect? I would love to have one of those amazing laundry rooms, I’m admittedly jealous.
Since I cannot buy a larger, newer or perfect home I decided I would try to tackle each room in my house using ideas and trying to incorporate items that will make my rooms look refreshed and de-cluttered. I decided to start with my laundry room check it out and see what you think. I’ve outlined how I organized and where I purchased the items below.
To organize my tiny space and odd shaped little room I purchased a $99 metal rack from Home Depot (Metal Rack). I did have a closet organizing company look at the space to see if there were any systems they sold due to the ceiling slant and size it was not worth the cost. The approach I took was much more budget friendly.
Step 1. Sort everything into three piles (keep, donate, throw)
Step 2. Measure and buy the right amount of baskets I need to put all the keep items back into the room.
Step 3. Put the items in the baskets and your done!
I purchased 6 black baskets from Fred Meyer, they also sell them at Home Depot for about $15 a piece click on the link if your interested (Baskets). The baskets on the top shelf came from Michaels years ago so I repurposed those. In case your looking for great places to buy baskets for organizing here are a few links to stores I get mine from: Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Home Goods/Marshalls. See photos below of my before and after and tell me what you think.
Happy Organizing and de-cluttering!
